I have been in love with art all of my life! Going back to when I was a kid, I remember my parents driving me 80 miles to the nearest hobby store so I could purchase sketch books, charcoal pencils, pastels, and various "how-to" books" that revealed all the secrets I was dying to learn! LOL! As a kid, I won various art awards and pursued my art education diligently but put it aside for various reasons in high school.
In 2013, I resumed my painting in earnest and plunged into the world of abstract art! My abstract paintings are known for their vibrancy, bright colors, and energy! During the COVID pandemic, I started mixing my abstract art with the vintage mascots of the schools I had grown up cheering in football and basketball as a kid in western Iowa, namely, Iowa State, Iowa, and Nebraska.
In August 2023, I was honored to have a solo art show at the SPLIT Gallery in Omaha. I showcased 24 original paintings for the three days of the show. It was a dream come true and I look forward to doing another one in the near future!
